Radek Vitek completes Middlesbrough move

Middlesbrough have completed the signing of goalkeeper Radek Vitek from Manchester United.
The highly-rated shot-stopper joins the club following an outstanding 2025/26 campaign while on loan at Bristol City.
Boro are said to be paying an initial £7 million for Vitek in a deal that could reach £14 million with add-ons. The Red Devils have also retained a 35% sell-on clause, matching-rights option, and a buy-back clause.
"It feels great to be here," the 22-year-old said on his arrival. "This is a new challenge for me and I’m really excited to be a Boro player.
"The project here is very impressive, because you can clearly see the ambition and where the club wants to go.
"I’m delighted to now be part of that."
Middlesbrough have already had their first competitive match of the 2025/26 campaign, defeating Wrexham on Thursday night with goalkeeper Sol Brynn keeping a clean sheet that evening.
