Man Utd overhaul accelerates with another transfer agreed after booking medical

Manchester United continue to overhaul their goalkeeping ranks with Altay Bayindir set to depart for Spain and Radek Vitek on the verge of a move to the Championship.

The situation between the sticks at Old Trafford has kept changing over the past three years with Senne Lammens establishing himself as the club's new No 1 last term. Underneath him players have left in search of more minutes, which has ultimately led Bayindir to head overseas.

The Turkish goalkeeper spent the majority of his time at Old Trafford as a back-up, starting just six times in the Premier League last term, and a deal has now been agreed with Celta Vigo.

He will join on a season-long loan with his wages covered by the La Liga side. Celta Vigo have the option to make the move permanent for £3.5million and it is understood United have a high sell-on clause attached in the deal.

Vitek, the 22-year-old Czech who impressed last season at Bristol City, is on his way back to the second tier as he prepares to join Middlesbrough, subject to a medical, in deal worth up to £14m. United retain a buy back option as well as a sell on clause that, Sky Sports claim, is a hefty 35 percent.

To cover for those departures United have signed Karl Darlow from Leeds after he became available on a free. He played 24 times for the Whites last term as they retained Premier League status. United also bought in teenage goalkeeper Kit Margetson from Swansea at the end of July.

The moves continue to see United's goalkeeping landscape change. Lammens came in this time last year as an unknown quantity from Royal Antwerp but within months of arriving was promoted to become the team's first choice, keeping eight clean sheets as United finished third.

His rise came after Andre Onana's surprise departure. The Cameroonian had endured a difficult time in Manchester having arrived from Inter Milan with an impressive reputation, but he continued to make notable errors that cost the team. He was allowed to leave on loan for Trabzonspor, who paid his wages in full.

He has since returned to the Super Lig outfit for another year. Onana was ultimately signed by Erik ten Hag to replace David de Gea, who was allowed to leave on a free after spending more than a decade as the team's undisputed No 1.
